A Basic Map with Various Functionalities
This is an experimental and very basic map based on Leaflet.js library whose self capabilities were brought together with various different plugins. While creating this map, I tried to show different functionalities of Leaflet from using plugins like dynamic side bar, geolocator, geocoder, cursor coordinate displayer, measurement tool, ajax geojson loader, marker animation to utilizing its own capabilities such as creating some overlaying features, adding layer control, setting max. bounds, max.&min. zoom., hover popup, click popup etc.
This map has first been put together when public raised deep concerns such that alleged inapropriate dismantling of old coal-gas plant in city center of Ankara (2017) risked healths of thousands of people living nearby (ca. 4km) by causing an uncontrolloed release of dangerous chemical of asbestos. As of Feb,2019 the map has been revised and recreated.
